SHOWTIME...  Jimmy was having lots of fun playing in the dirt, qualifying in heat #1 for the Sportsman Feature

Mike Howardson brings the #17 back in after winning the 2nd Sportsman Heat

Modified driver Johnny McClelland tightens up the belts prior to heat race action...  For a view of how John's night went here's the "in car" courtesy of Rob Cerini:

The Hendershots - Mike and Don

The Martz's - Sam and Jim

This guy doesn't leave anything at the dock...  Hard charging independent Modified driver #85, Jim Robertson.

It's thumbs up in the Carberry pit from long time crew member Rob Effau

Willie Osmun takes the #14 out to battle

After taking a few years off, the always fast Darren McCaughey has the Saracino #91d looking good already this season.

Mike Lyons gives Joe Systo a little assistance as the #9 lost power when pulling off the track

Kyle Borrer, (who tows in all the way from "Peach Bottom, PA") is all smiles after qualifying in his Sportsman heat race. (Where in the heck is "Peach Bottom, PA?)

Tom Princiotta traded in last year's mid 60's Malibu for a mid 70's Camaro...  Paint and lettering to follow shortly as getting it race ready was job #1...

Tommy Beamer looks over the notes before heading out for qualifying

...quite a variety of bumper stickers on the back of Billy Wroble's #23X Outlaw Stock...

Unscheduled pit stop for Ron Jon as crew members from surrounding cars lend a hand...

Johnny "Lightning" Guarino led all but the last 2 laps in last week's modified feature...  and this week would prove to be another great night for the kid from Nanuet, NY

...nobody throws it into turn #3 as hard as Frank Cozze Jr...  His powerful driving style is winning over fans young and old each week.

It's a new # and a new car for Sophomore Sportsman Racer Ryan Simmons.  It's a former John Romano #87, so Ryan's never alone out there....

Brian Ludwig's view of the world.  (Inside his #94 Camaro Outlaw Stock)

"This is Not Your Father's Oldsmobile"...  Well, maybe it was at one point, but it's now Outlaw Stock driver Dan Callamer's #42 Cutlass....

Lee Allen had his vintage #R2 on hand outside The Vault.  It's a mid 40's Studebaker body on a late 70's or early 80's frame.

"Sundown Before the Showdown..."

... a "Butler" with a "red #4"... This time its Sportsman racer Mike Butler (Grandson of Oliver, and son of Clay)

It's time for the Sportsman Feature... Here Bob Lineman in the USA #1 suits up...

...Gene Stravinsky gets the helmet on in his Advantage Financial #7A...  (Looks like SJDR has a good view of the action...)

All time Super Stock Feature Winner Rob Ormsbee guides Jimmy Blewett out of the #6X pit stall as Jimmy heads out to his first feature on dirt.

Tim "Red" Triggs and Dom Buffalino get the #2B ready for the modified feature.

The Osmuns - Billy O and WIllie O.

The #M40 of Mark Forte Jr looks good under the lights.

Find a seat... if you can - Great crowd on hand for what would become a very memorable night at the speedway.

What's this, the asphalt section?  Dirt fans... asphalt fans...  SHORT TRACK FANS are the greatest.

With the 1st & 2nd cars getting together on the last lap, Chad Barney keep it low through turn 4 and went by both of them for the win in the Sportsman main.

Crew member congratulates Chad as he gets out of the car in Victory Lane.

This one "kinda" makes up for some of those that Chad has had in the bag, only to have a flat or something take him out...  Congratulations Chad and the #84 crew.

Billy Pauch gives his trophy to one of the kids in Victory Lane after winning the Modified Feature.  Billy and Frank Cozze Jr. put on a heck of a side by side battle in the closing laps until contact with a slowing car between 1 & 2 ended young Cozze's bid for the win.  Would Pauch have got by him?   We'll never know. -Tune in next week.

Here's Billy in the Ling Trucking and K&A Excavating #1...

Billy celebrates with the crew from Section 6...
What's that?...  Can't find your reading glasses?... (
This should help:)

(The above is provided as a public service for the visually challenged... Hate to see you old guys have to squint to read the fine print!)

A wild finish in the Outlaw Stock Feature when strong running John Carpenter got loose off turn 4 on the last lap, and P.J. going "hard right" to get around him for the win.

The Oliver's (mom, dad, and the entire #13xXx crew) in Victory Lane...

Ut ohhhh...  They're back

Scott Gries Photo:
(No, it's not the cast from "Jersey Shore"...  It's the Section 6 Psyho's, with P.J. in the middle there somewhere...)

The End...
