Vintage cars take to the track for their first exhibition event

Billy Lowden brings in the Ken Brenn #24 coupe replica back into the pits

Doug Dubeil brings in the "Unsung Hero's" special...

Hot... dusty... dirty...  no better place to be!

J.J Grasso and New Egypt Speedway... "Perfect Together".

J.J. has two speeds... relaxing,... or wide open!

"That Tickles!"

Roger Grover and Brian Nixon do a quick wing change on Mark Bitner's #15

Can you find the wrench?

Former Modified runner Ken Meisner has quickly adapted to the winged world of URC.

Jonathan Swanson used info learned from warmups to dominate his heat race, taking the fast way around for the win.

This guy never sits...  URC racer Art Liedl gets it done on and off the track.

Lance wheels this original Les Katona Pinto in the Vintage class.

Letting a little steam out...

Any guesses?....

Crew member buttons things up on the #80 modified of Mike Hendershot

Bob Miller on the go....

With over 30+ modifieds each week, qualifying for the feature is no easy chore at New Egypt Speedway as the consi goes green...

The Gene Coyle #65 and the Charlie Decker replica #16 on display in the picnic area.

Jim Horton Sr has owned some of our all time favorite mods, driven by names like Babey, Grbac, Beavers, Epright and his son, Jimmy.

Anthony Moran and his dad check out the vintage midget racer (as many did throughout the evening) on display in the picnic area.

Keith Hoffman makes his way out of the pits as the call is put out for the modified "Big Bang Shuffle" participants to make their way to the infield.

Ron John heads out too...

...as does Billy Pauch in the #1

Everybody in the house focuses on center stage as the "Shuffle" gets underway.

After winning a few rounds, Nick Leach leans in and asks Sammy Martz who he wants to take on next....

"David Van Horn" is called out as Martz's next opponent...

... the crowd watches as the next round gets underway...  as Sammy Martz and David Van Horn battle it out for 2 laps...

...and after taking down Sammy Martz, David Van Horn calls out his next opponent... "Rick Laubach"...

Rick would take the win... which set up a showdown the crowd wanted to see...  Rick Laubach VS Billy Pauch!

Billy grabs the lead coming off of turn 2 which made the "Section 6'rs" pretty happy....

The fans from Section 6 watch Billy take the final round win in the shuffle, pocketing a quick $500 for 2 laps of racing...

Billy gets ready to take off the helmet as Track Owner Bill Miscoski looks on...

Billy gets a "Standing O" from his loyal fans in turn 1...

...and Billy acknowledges their cheers with a salute right back at them...  Great stuff going on at New Egypt Speedway.

Here's Billy and family.  Billy and his dad have been involved in the recreation of many of our all time favorite racecars (#24, #44, #81, #12, #333 #0, #292 and more).

Good to see the Michael Brothers #51M back in the pits at NES.  Wade Hendrickson was at the controls.

The only caption I can come up with for this photo is:  "Thanks for over 35 years guys.  You are the best."

Lots of activity in front of the stands as modified driver's draw for starting positions for the Tri-Track 40 Lap main event.

Wade Hendrickson signs an autograph for this young fan as the film crew from "Jersey Thunder" captures the action...

Frank Cozze and Jim Grbac have a laugh...

Modified driver's Tom Carberry Sr. and Willie Osmun participate in a helmet drive to help support the Friends of Mike Event coming up on in a few weeks (7/31).

It's feature time... Time to take a seat...

Maybe the best view in the house... Video Jim captures all the action from topside.

A huge crowd of well wishers wait for their favorite driver outside the 4th turn Victory Lane area...  What's taking him so long???

Ron John Koczon get's a well deserved congratulations from Billy Pauch... , to which Billy then pointed the way up the victory lane ramp!

With tons of fans waiting outside the car, Ron John has a moment with his son...  He asked his son, "Who'd we beat?"... His son with a big smile said, "BIlly!"

With dad watching on the left, Ron John gives a big thumbs up as he exits the car...  To earn this win, he had to beat the best... and on this night, Ron John did just that.

Ron John and his dad...

The Koczon Family

Ron John thanked his family... his crew...  and his many sponsors and supporters...

Great Family shot of the Koczon's and racing good guy "Uncle Harvey" 2nd from the right.

It was a real popular when for..., as Nick calls him, "The New Egypt Nice Guy!"

Here's the Koczon's again, with Crew Chief Brett Tittle

Ron John signs a young fan's flag as former Late Model/Modified driver Phil Cox looks on.

One of the best smiles in racing...

...Looks like the left rear only had 41 laps of air in it!

Last weeks modified feature winner Bob Drayton offers his congratulations to Ron John.

Crew member Don C. guides Ron John out of victory lane and over to tech.

Fending off a daring last lap challenge from J.J. Grasso, Randy West kept his cool and powered out of turn 4 for the win!

Car owner Fred Kennedy and Randy in victory lane.

Many of us remember Fred from his driving days at Flemington and East WIndsor:

Here's Fred in his #89 coupe from the mid 70's at Flemington Speedway (photo by Ace Lane Jr.)

Randy get's interviewed about the exciting win as fireworks close out another great night at the speedway.
