Comment: "The Professional" - Gil
Hearne. One of the great things of having this site is that I've had the opportunity to meet people like Gil Hearne. I'll admit that I spent way too many nights at the dirt tracks in the 70's and early 80's to keep up with all of Gil's accomplishments, but now I wish I would have watched him race more often. Here it is many year's after Gil's last race, and I've become one of his biggest fans... And there's a lot of us out here... Just talk to anyone who's had a chance to know Gil. He is a wealth of knowledge - a true fan, and a true historian of the sport. Someone to truly respect. |
