Comments: | Comment: ...from possibly the first year that Wall Stadium was in operation at its current location. Not sure how long ago the tradition of throwing the checkered flag into the stands started, but here's an early example. I included a few close ups so that you could see the excitement on the faces of those in the stands. The bottom photo shows the car up close - I see a hood ornament on the roof, and maybe a light for when the car was flat towed to the track. Also, I'm not sure what class this was, but without a cage and with a door that opens, if this one had lights, this one looks like it could have been driven to the track. |
