Comments: Comment from Jim Hall: Three pics of the #ZX3 Driven by Johnny Luhrs is a 46 Ford Coupe powered with a Mercury Flathead on a trailer built at Freehold High School in the Agriculture Class about 1962.  The pictures are from in front of Mauser's Sinclair Gas Station in Farmingdale, New Jersey

This car was later owned and raced by Franklin "Pappy" Fraley of South Belmar, NJ.  He raced it in the mid-60s at Wall Stadium in the Novice division.  He lived next to my grandfather.  I believe he told me it was a '41 Ford with a '58 Mercury flathead mill.  It could be a '46 as they are almost identical.  In July of 1964 I saw this car race at Wall.  A car bounced off the number one turn and crashed into the right rear quarter panel of this car.  He had it for a few more years.  Then I'm not sure what became of it.
