Comments: | When Gary arrived from the South, the first seat I remember him was this #9. I remember the car and the helmet which at the time was somewhat unique for the time. I could be real wrong on this but I'm thinking that Del George may have driven this car before Gary got in.... Can't help but notice the "Built by Whip" on the quarter panel... |

04/02/04 | Scott Pacich | This car became the number 73 in the next picture. |
08/19/04 | Daddio | I remember Gary stunning the crowd at EWS on a Sunday night when he passed Ploski while driving this car, nobody had ever heard of him and here he was blowing away someone previously untouchable, I think Stanley passed him later in the race to win, but an amazing night at Windsor. |
12/29/04 | Bob Hummer Sr. | This car was owned by Richard Ege (not 100% sure of correct spelling of last name) and Gary was literally almost unbeatable wherever he ran. I remember him going to Nazareth and Middletown as well with this car that had a painting of a large Rebel Flag on the roof. |

Looks like Danny Mitchell next to his car on the left? |

Actually Balough's first ride with Ege was the #9 coupe which wasn't terribly successful and he was the first (and I believe only) driver of the Mulligan built Gremlin. That car certainly turned things around and he became tough to beat from then on. |
01.04.15 | 3Wide | Thanks John. Since posting this page in 2004, we've
since come up with a photo of Gary driving the Ege #9 coupe that. was driven
also prior by Del George. As you mentioned, I don't remember Gary in this car, but he definitely got on the radar when he got behind the wheel of the Mulligan Gremlin. |

I think the car owner’s name was Egge. |
