08/08/04 | Walter Onora | Great picture of Doggie and the Studebaker bodied car. Not only was he a steady driver at Old Bridge and Wall Stadium. At the Legendary Weissglass Stadium (on Staten Island) Doggie was a constant threat to win a feature on any given Saturday night, in the early to mid 60's. I remember Doggie driving a sedan, with the same number and color scheme (red with orange and yellow numbers and lettering). |

01.26.09 | Harry Cella | This studebaker bodied car was owned by 3 gas station owners
from Paterson, NJ. They were known as the "3-B's, for Bob, Bud, and Bill.
How I know this is that Bud was my uncle, he is the one responsible for
introducing me to this great sport of stock car racing. Doggie drove for them for many years. They also had the services of another great wheelsman as Ray Cook drove their 87 coupes at Middletown, NY for many years. They also had Rags Carter, Bud Olsen and the late Jerry Karl fill in for special shows for them. Their beautiful red and yellow cars earned many Best Appearing car awards at the famed Orange County oval. Those were the days. |
