09/06/04 John Mc Schneider is spelled wrong. Is this Frank's car?
10/11/04 3-Wide Now that you mention it John, I don't know!  I didn't notice the spelling before and seeing the #2 and Frank Schnieder on the roof, I just put 2 & 2 together and came up with the rest...  Anybody know the real deal out there?
10/23/04 Harold Stover Greg Fielden's "Forty Years of Stock Car Racing - Volume 1" lists Grand National Race #16, "The International 200" run on June 21, 1953 at Langhorne, Pa. an event won by Dick Rathman in a 1953 Walt Chapman Hudson #120. Race Results list a # 8, '53 Jaguar driven by Frankie Schneider, started 5th, finishing 12th. Race Results list 10 foreign makes, ( 6 Jaguars, 2 Porsche's, an Aston Martin and a Volkswagen finishing 19th ! ! ! ). The # 2 was driven by Bill Blair, a ' 53 Olds 88, that finished 5 th. Nick Fornoro is listed as starting 12th and finishing 8th in a number 10 Porsche.

The event held at the old Linden, NJ airport was the first NASCAR Grand National road race in its history, a 50 lap, " International 100 ", held on a 2 mile paved course laid out on the airport's runways. This event was Grand National Race #18 of the 1954 season, won by Al Keller in a Jaguar on June 13, 1954. Race summary lists 21 foreign makes competed ( 13 Jaguars, 5 MG's, an Austin Healy, a ( Porsch?) mention two 1951 Henry J's!   Dick Rathman competed in a John Ditz '54 Hudson, # 3, finishing 8th, while a # 2 Jaguar driven by Bill Claren was credited with a 6th place finish.  Frankie's name is not listed in the rundown.

Other notables that day were Buck Baker, 3rd ( # 88, '54 Olds 88 ), Lee Petty, 10 th ( #42, '54 Dodge ), Jack Smith, 23rd ( # 14, '50 Plymouth ), Dave Terrell, 27 th ( # 126, ' 54 Dodge ), Hershel McGriff, 30th ( # 8, Jaguar - SCHNEIDER 's ??? ) and Jim Reed, 40 th ( # 7, ' 54 Ford ).

Keller announced after his win, that he was quitting NASCAR to join the AAA Championship trail so he could get a shot at Indianapolis.  Fielden's book says that Keller, originally from Buffalo, would compete in 5 Indy 500's, with a fifth place finish in 1961 being his best effort.  Sadly, in Nov of that same year, he lost his life in a fiery wreck in Phoenix.

IS THAT DRIVER REALLY HERSHEL MCGRIFF INSTEAD OF DICK RATHMAN IN THE PICTURE ??? Cong w Egypt Sportsman Champ, LARRY KLINE, way to go, cuz, your not getting older, your just getting better.

02/04/05 Frank III I am Frankie's son Frank III, and no, that is not my Dad. It is a car he ran, but not his.  I think he ran it either in Sebring or Nassau.  I think Nassau.  I think that might be Tommy Elliott behind the wheel. I'd have to ask my Dad.
08/16/08 Bill Claren The picture is Dick Rathman not McGriff for sure..
Dick Rathman drove the No. 3 Hudson and finished 8th.

Bill Claren actually finished 4th not 6th. This scoring error has never been set right by NASCAR, what else is new?
