nevermind parking, this happy homeowner could just look out the window to check out the
action at the Trenton Speedway! Here's a photo that shows what NASCAR Stock Car Racing was like back in the late 50's and/or early 60's. I didn't start going to Trenton until around 1967, but I do remember how all the big names were there. Back in the day, there weren't any bigger names than the late Fireball Roberts. |

10/30/04 | Harold Stover | This picture shows the top 2 finishers of the Memorial Day Grand National 500 race, winner Fireball Roberts ( his first win for 1958 ) # 22, ' 57 Chevy and outside of him is second place finisher, the Last American Hero, Junior Johnson, # 11, ' 57 Ford. The Northern 500 was the 20th race of the ' 58 Grand National season. Only three cautions for a total of 15 laps. Race took 5 hrs, 54 min and 56 seconds to complete. Whew, talk about a dog day afternoon ! ! |

This house is at the end of Magowen Ave. The windows have the same location today. This house was where the dogleg turned right on the 1½ mile as soon as it cleared its’ property line. A driveway width away from house to the fence. |
04.30.15 | Justine Riley | My uncle lived on that street 5 house's up on the left side. We would stand rite there on the fence line n watch the race's . He had a big shed in the back yard we would also sit on and watch. GREAT times in the 60,70 and 80's. |
