10/04/07 George Pavlisko I am now 60 and still do not know the truth of Don's passing.
1. It was at Daytona
2. Hit the Crossing gate and car broke in half ????
3. Sam Sumner drove into the cockpit which was now open ???
Don house owned the car and the RUMORS where that the steel was no good in the cage. My dad told me back then that that was a bunch of junk and NASCAR was covering there butt because the gate was not latched properly and stuck out and HOOKED the car.

Joe I understand that this is not a normal reply for a comment but maybe someone has the real story.

PS I am buying a Vintage car thanks to your website's message board.

The car was "unibody"  construction - no main frame rails underneath the drivers compartment.  NASCAR banned that type of car from then on from the super speedways.
