This picture is of neighbors Johnny Harroll and Henry Scharf both from Belle Meade, NJ. They both lived on the same property and both raced. Most remember Johnny Harroll as running Modifieds and a lot of it was with Burnett Cars. Henry was a sportsman racer that ran a lot at Nazareth. He always had immaculately prepared cars carrying the #27. His wife, Vickie, was know to climb behind the wheel every now and then. After his sportsman racing, Henry had a gocart track at his house that they ran with such people as Art Adams, Howard Crawford (my brother) Tony Feil and others showing up. |
02.28.16 | 3Wide | Thanks for the information RedFred. I didn't know that Johnny Harroll was from NJ - I guess I just figured that since he almost never raced at Flemington and East Windsor, that he was from Nazareth, or maybe up by Middletown. Thanks for clarifying why the #11 is on the #27's ramptruck. If somebody has a picture of the Henry's sportsman car, email it in along with photographer credit and we'll add it to The Vault. |
