07/11/05 | Ned Stites III | I think it was in 1968 when my father took my best friend Cliff and I to
Flemington. During one of those quiet times between races when you could hear the roar of
the crowd and the sounds of tires being changed, Joe Kelly fired up the Fodor 13 in the
pits and we both knew at that moment we were going to have a great night! We still talk
about it as if it were yesterday. This truly is a wonderful picture. It captures all of the things that made racing so much fun. No frills, just the real deal. Add to this the Great Joe Kelly and that says it all! |
07/12/05 | GGlenn | Great picture. Joe was always strong at Flemington in the Fodor cars. I think the welding shop was on Calhoun Street in Trenton. |
08/15/05 | Mark Yaple | The Foder Welding Shop was on Prospect Street in Trenton. Jim lived in Ewing Twp. until the time of his death. |
10/23/05 | John Armbruster | Now that's a picture |
07/02/06 | R. Libensperger | I also believe Fodor had his off South Olden Ave behind the bank building. (Greenwood and Olden) |
02.13.12 | Hap | This picture shows the two cars we needed to run in order to
compete at Reading (Friday & Sunday night) as well as Flemington
(Saturdays). The engine setback rules were different at the two tracks. The
driver at this time was Joe Kelly & had been for the previous few years.
This is obviously the rear of my fathers’ welding shop which was located at
400 Prospect Street, Trenton, NJ. Harold B. Fodor |
