from Ron Barnstead: THAT'S MY DAD IN THE CAB OF A HAULER HE MADE OUT OF A
TRASH TRUCK, PROBABLY ABOUT 1957 OR SO. I REMEMBER PLAYING ON THE TRUCK WHEN I WAS A LITTLE KID AT AGE 6 MAYBE. AFTER HE AND CHEMUNG SPEEDROME DRIVER GORDY BLANCHARD GOT THE TRUCK GOING, I DIDN'T GET TO SIT IN THE CAR ANYMORE WHEN THEY FLAT TOWED IT AROUND WITH A TOW BAR, WHICH WAS VERY EXCITING FOR A LITTLE KID. VERY HIGH TECH TOW RIG FOR THE TIME PERIOD. NOTE THE "NO DUALLIE" REAR WHEELS. |
