Comments: Comment from AF-IV:  Here is our second car coming out of one of King's shop in Indy,  The Red and white Dodge pickup is ours.  This the 4th car Gremlin that Grant King built.  This is just before the car was loaded on the trailer to head to Jersey.

01.08.12 3-Wide Anthony - I'm assuming that the first 2 cars were purchased by Ken Brenn, correct?  Also, any idea what happened to your #73's?  I know that the car you have now is an original, but I didn't know for sure if it had ever left your ownership since it's original purchase from King.

Also, I remember the following 4 (I think) driving King #73's:  Gary Balough, Billy O, Sammy Beavers, and you....  Am I right on that, and, did anyone else drive your King cars?
01.09.12 AF-IV Joe you are correct about the four drivers. I feel lucky to be in the group with the other three. Gary and Billy did a lot of winning in our King cars and Sammy’s outside pole in Syracuse in 1980 made us the best of the rest behind the Batmobile.

Many people have wondered where all of the King cars ended up. It’s hard to believe that not more of them have shown up. One thing everyone has to remember is that most of them were raced into the 80’s which means that they got fitted with big bodies and inner panels so they kind of got lost in the crowd. Ours included, so yes some things left us and had to be tracked down. Some things had to be remade because most of the cars were hand made parts so there's not to much NOS parts laying around.
01.11.12 CHIP Anthony I was there when you won your 1st sportsman/small block race at OCFS against Brett Hearn.

I remember there was a red flag during that race. Gary Balough came out on to the track and leaned in your car and, I'm guessing he was telling you how to make your car WIDER.

Is that the same 73 that Gary lead all 200laps of the 77"Eastern States?  Mr. Balough still holds that..
01.12.12 AF-IV Chip, you have a good memory. Yes this is the car that Gary lead all 200 laps of the 77 ES 200. A week or two after that Billy O was running away with the Daniel Boone 200 with this car until the radiator strap broke.

I remember my first sportsman win that night very well. There's no more pressure then being a rookie leading on a late race restart with Brett right behind you.
