Comments: | Comment from Bob: Here's Carl Bettinger in 1992 at East Windsor Speedway wheeling the ex Joe Coverdale, ex Rolf Schnur owned car (Jimmy Brenn and Bob Fisher as drivers) that was once a Ken Brenn driven Modified. (Talk about a transformation of the King Car.) |

01.02.13 | 3Wide | Carl is quite a fabricator and is one of the few guys around today that can take a few pieces of tubing and turn it into a modified, or a SS Sprint... or whatever you need. We'll have to find out from Carl himself how much of this was still a "King car" and how much of it wasn't there when he got it and/or how much he changed. From this view, the only thing that kinda looks "Grant King" is the roll cage, and if that's the case, even though it no longer looks like a King, I think it belongs in this section... even if for no other reason than to show how long bits and pieces of this stayed around. |

Looks like Carl has a "very small window of opportunity" to see where he was going to make his next move. I'm a big fan of the coupes, sedans, gremlins, etc. but this is a cool lookin' hot rod. |
01.03.13 | 3Wide | Holy cow... I didn't notice that when I was posting
the picture. Hopefully Carl will chime in and tell us what was going
on with the opaque windshield?:![]() |
