Comment: Well... Although it's painted like what we have
figured out to be the 3rd Ken Brenn owned Grant King Modified, from what
we've put together, we really think this is the first of the Brenn owned
King cars. Originally driven by Ken Brenn Jr in 1976, and then later
Jimmy Brenn, we believe the car was sold to Michel Lussier (pictured above)
who ran the car in Canada in the early 80's. What we don't know is if
the body that we see on the car above was on it when purchased, and if so,
was that a Brenn paint job, or a replica of one of the Brenn paint schemes.
The stripes don't look exactly the same as were on the final of the 3 Brenn
King cars, and I've also never seen the #24 painted exactly like that either
while in the Brenn stable.... According to photo provider le sieurs, the car above was purchased directly from Brenn Racing by Michel Lussier from St-Constant Qc. He ran the car for two seasons, and then sold it to Rene Clair of St Edmond Qc. Rene raced the car in 1983. It was then scraped at the end of the season. If the above is correct, that is where the story ends on the very first Grant King built Modified. |
