Comments: | One of the best paint jobs ever on a modified, combined with lettering by Dennis Smith. This "King" has a little different look than the original yellow #24, but the decal on the hood (slightly visible in the top photo) is a dead giveaway that it's the real deal. |

09.13.09 | Gary | Judging by the first photo that is not a Grant King car. A couple of things that I see in the photo that indicate it is not, is the bump steering and the side panels where the tie rod goes through. Also the way the fuel cell is mounted. The one to ask to be sure is AF IV. |
09.13.09 | 3Wide | Like you said, Anthony will know for sure, but I'm thinking that the sheet metal in the front could be for aero purposes and the tank issue may have been to get more fuel in it for Syracuse. |
09.15.09 | Larry Ferraiuolo | Joe you are right it is probably an aero thing, it looks like he is getting ready to time trial because of not having any shield on the front of the roll cage or rock guard for protection- less drag. Ken Brenn started the King cars, I don't think he would put a King sticker on a car that isn't one. Harraka speed shop sold the bump steer, I notice his logo is on the lower back quarter panel. We actually had a bump steer on our King car towards the end. It is a King car. I'm sure my brother would say that to. |
09.15.09 | 3Wide | Thanks for the info Larry - |
09.16.09 | Wayne Barz | Don't look at the pieces, look at that car! I could stare all day. Brett Hearn's #20 looks good too! |
10.05.09 | Jeffrey Cox | Lots of aero tricks on this car. anyone notice how the top of the roll cage hides inside the roof. |
10.06.09 | 3 Wide | ...Didn't notice, but now I see what you mean... |
11.17.16 | Bill123 | That was the year of the Batmobile. Look under the roof it has a bottom panel and other trick stuff. We didn't change anything and they said we were the first regular car to finish. |
