Comments: Comment provided by Jim Maxson4jThis photo was shot by Ace Lane and may be from an open show at Flemington.  I do know that this car did run with URC.  I was told it was Osmun but lets see if we can get some help finding out the driver for sure.  Lets let the racing crowd help us out .

11/28/04 John Mc I know it's NOT a URC race because URC didn't allow nose wings at this time. It also looks to be a larger than allowed top wing, too.  Are you sure this isn't Sam Beavers? He drove this car quite a few times, even w/ the All-Stars @ Flemington. Kinda looks like him.
11/29/04 Bob Becker I'm pretty sure John is right, it's Sammy Beavers. I have a photo I took of Sammy in the car at Williams Grove on 9/18/82. The helmet and uniform match, and Sammy was quite tall and sat high in the car. His head is almost to the top of the roll bars.
11/29/04 3-Wide John's been known to be right once in a while... kind of like the blind squirl finding an acorn thing.....(Good rule:  Never bet against John when it comes to dirt track racing trivia!)
11/29/04 Rick Shive I think it's Beavers,too.
11/29/04 3-Wide Well, I think it's official.  Thanks for keeping us straight here in the Vault Bob, John and Rick.
08/27/05 Ted It is Sammy Beavers. Brett Hearn won a couple of URC races in this car at OCFs in the 80's and drove it at Syracuse as well.
10/05/05 Michael Casey This is Sammy Beavers, He was the original driver of the Dave Gaston owned 112. There were a few drivers in the 112 and its appearance changed over a period of time.

The next driver was Brett Hearn, he had success at OCFS getting his second URC win in the 112. We traveled locally and had some successes with the WORLD OF OUTLAWS too.

We shoehorned Billy "O" into the car at Nazareth once, for an open comp
race, he may have punted Tighe Scott during that run. The final driver of the 112 was Billy Pauch. Again we raced with URC and when the WORLD OF OUTLAWS came around we went for the rides. Billy's Best WoO Run in the 112 was at Syracuse ,I believe he finished eigth. Of course he would go on to win the Syracuse race in another car.

The car was housed at the Haraka Speed shop. The Crew consisted of Dave Gaston (owner) Pete & Paul Haraka, John Palisi, Joe Sarvis, & myself. Dave and John both passed on in the 80's, Pete is down South working for a race team, I believe Paul is overseeing his son's racing career in Karts, Joe Sarvis runs 358 Modifieds at OCFS and occasionally I can be found at a track doing photography work.

Thanks for the memories,
Michael Casey
