11/10/08 Peter Howell WOW!! Too bad Langhorne was gone by the time that I started going to races in the 1970's. Great pic!
11/11/08 Sam Corrice I was probably there as my Dad started taking us to the Champ Car races in 58.  Foyt would broadslide all the way around.

Another track ruined by crude oil.  The year they paved it, you could tell they couldn't see around the turns far enough to brake for the speeds they were going, but with rear engines coming on, Oh My!
11/15/08 Don Nugent Man what a great shot. I only got to see a few races at the Horne when it was dirt a few Champ car deals and a few NASCAR Grand National race with convertibles that was pretty kool. With this shot I can almost feel what those days felt like and sounded like. Thanks for the smile on my face.
11/19/08 Tom Bilger What a track. I remember in September of 1957 , going to a sprint car race at the "Horne" when Charlie Musselman flipped and was thrown out of the car. We all thought that there was no way he would survived, but he did and the pictures they got were so spectacular that they put them in Life Magazine.
11/22/08 John Marelli I saw the modifieds there in 1963, my first big track race. I never saw the open wheel guys...It must have been a sight to behold.  Aside from the fact that this is an incredible photo as far as subject matter and location is concerned, the quality looks like a Hi Def picture taken just last week.....Come on Rick there's gotta be more where this came from...Thanks so much for the memories!
11/22/08 3Wide My guess is the photo may have originated as a slide and I've found that some of the slides retained unbelievable color throughout the years!
