Take Off Your Jacket and Stay Awhile!

Jackets, shirts and uniforms are neat to collect but a little hard to display. However if you see one you recognize, I know your Senior Moment has already started. The Senior Moment contribution this time will be your own story or thoughts. If these jackets are all new to you, it is hoped you still may enjoy seeing them and know they are representative of mainly the 1950’s and 60’s.

Starting top row left to right, each jacket will be identified:

1. “General Sherman” was from the Beach Brother’s racing team at Alcyon Speedway c.1950. Johnny Karp was the “hot shoe” at that time. The 1 car was the top of the line as it marched to the front!

2. Cohee’s 1 Pleasantville went with owner Charlie Cohee’s blue sportsman driven at P-ville/Atlantic City, Vineland Speedway by Frank Leeds and Jerry Camp

3. Jordan’s Deuce from Lucky Jordan’s team. Unique in that it is reversible, the inside is white with the red sedan on it! Bob Pickell drove both cars. Flemington, Nazareth, East Windsor plus others

4. Custom XL-1 XE-1 Auto Body Cars driven by Joe Kelly, Tommie Elliott, Norman Kidd, Wally Dallenbach and others. Old Bridge, Wall and Vineland Speedway plus others
