02.16.13 | Skip Dyrdra | There are a lot of interesting stories about having the car
lettered but also about my 'car hauler' seen in the background. I recall when we picked up the car at Bill's house, he left the garage door unlocked. He was away for the day. Some of the pit crew guys were a little freaked out because apparently Bill also was into wildlife and in particular, snakes. So there were a few glass enclosures inside with live snakes in them:-) They got the car out of the garage pretty fast. And that truck...it started out as a bread truck and then was later used by a local band called EMAK "Every Man's a King". Half the band members ended up on my pit crew. It was painted like an old '60s rock concert poster then. And once we got stopped by the police on the way to Bridgeport because the truck was smoking so much. Oh...and the back bumper was falling off:-) I'm not really sure how we survived. |
