Comments: 60's, 70's and 80's driver and now featured contributor to the Vault "Tom Eppolite" provided these great pictures which gives us a glimpse of the process of which most of us usually only see the end result.  Kinda makes you wish they would do away with the current rules and give a guy a 500lb weight break today if they'd run a body with stock quarters, roof, doors and narrowed rear deck!  I know there aren't too many old shells left out there, but I'd rather see a true Mustang or Camaro or even a freakin' Citation than a bunch of flat paneled creations....

08/16/03 Kevin Budden Amen to that Joe! I believe the sport would thrive. if you look at the photos in the vault when you can see the grandstands, they are usually quite full.  Kevin Budden.....
05/28/06 John Spivey Amen to that too Joe.  Our Gremlin that Ollie Butler drove was an all steel Gremlin right down to the stock roof rack, tail lights and the original Gremlin gas cap.   Those days are long gone... a real shame. John Spivey - Spivey's Auto Parts #600
