Comments: Ray Neary driving a #39 Polecat Replica on this beautiful September day at Flemington.  From what I hear, although not an original Polecat (THEY WERE ALL CUT UP), this car was the display car that sat for many years under the grandstand at Flemington and was later stored at Dave Piscopo's Auto Body in Morrisville, PA.  Needing a home and someone who is committed to saving the memories of our sport, accomplished Modified star Ray Neary totally rebuilt what was left and made it once again track ready!  It's a beauty and much credit has to go out to Ray who as many of you know, also restored an original Wally Marks #1 a few years back.

09/29/03 Roy Schreffler I was with an old timer today who used to go to the races in the early '60s, Mostly Nazareth and Hatfield (when Naz ran an afternoon show) and sometimes Reading.  He said he remembered being in the pits at Reading with a frined of his, the night Tas wrecked in the #39 (see here for photo http://www.rsca-racing.com/ReadingFairgrounds/ReadingFairground/Accidents/mishap_18.html)
He said that when they were putting this car on the trailer, it was off-center, and a few crew guys were trying to lift it and move it more centered, so this friend said "here let me do it" and by himself, picked up the back of the wrecked #39 and moved it over by himself, and the crew went"  "wow, we ain't never messing with that guy"
09/29/03 3-Wide You know me guys, I'm not big with pictures of wrecks, but what a great story Roy!
10/21/03 Dave Neuman I was directed to your site by Ray Neary. Ray & I are great friends, going back to his days in the "21". I lived directly across the street from Ray in Morrisville since I was old enough to know what racing was. I think it's great that he now runs the Piscopo 39. I can remember as a boy sneaking over to Piscopo's Garage (which was only a block away from Ray & my parent's house) to check out the car every time we heard that modified fire up. It would shake the whole neighborhood!
