Walt bought out Kenny in October of 76. After hearing about Kenny’s desire to get out of the car building business, and being so impressed with the Weld cars, Walt decided to make a commitment to continue to provide the Weld designed cars to racers. Its a shame he did not realize half the success that brother Budd had in the car building business. Car was built over the winter of 76-77 and Kenny had a hand in the production of the first Weld by Olsen. Walt built two other cars, one for Roy Weist and another for someone else he could not remember. Walt took the 1978 Bridgeport modified championship with his car. Car is currently sitting in my garage . |
