Comments: Not sure who's the driver of this #55 Mustang.  Reminds me of a early Tom Hager driven car...  Can't quite read the roof, but it looks like it says, "Jimmy Rummel".. or "Jimmy Hummer?"

05.20.09 BOB HUMMER SR. Hi Joe, that is my Brother Jimmy Hummer in a car he purchased from ( His friend and car owner / driver ) Tom Hager. He picked the number 55 for the year my Dad was 55 years old. That was 1977 . I am not sure if this was the first or second # 55 car he had.  I know He also owned the former #1 sportsman 1937 chevy coach body car that (my uncle) Larry Honey drove Jimmy started his love for race cars when he worked for Walt Garrett and went to the
race tracks with the 2A Garrett had that was "piloted" by Carl "fuzzy" Van Horn. Jim had also owned one of the former 2A car's that Carl drove for Garrett.  Jim's last car was a red # 7H asphalt car that He drove in 1991 at Flemington .
05.20.09 3Wide Well... I guess that's why it reminds me of an early Tom Hager driven car!  Pretty neat that cars were so unique looking back in the day that you could paint them differently... put a different number on them... and then 35 years show us a picture of a car and recognize it as it once looked...  Thanks for the info Bob.
06.15.09 Ricky Rutt Jim Hummer sold this car to Steve Olexson who won a Flemington rookie feature with it in 1978.  The following week he flipped down the backstretch and destroyed it.  Walt Garrett sold the #2a Vega to Tim Manieri of Easton.

Tom Hager chopped it to look like his cars and put a Falcon body on it.   Jimmy bought it from Tim and raced it a few times.  It's last known where abouts was on a farm in Bangor PA.  It's rumored to now be sitting in a junk yard outside of Harmony NJ.
