03/16/03 Kevin B My friends and I are mostly from central n.j. but during the mid to late 80's we would venture out here to see some special shows. Boy looking at these photos really hurts. Boy I wish I could play god for a while and re-open all of our lost track's. Especially Flemington.
01/02/04 Gary Lileck Wow, this photo tears at my heart! Look at the grandstands. I can remember in the 70s when the main grandstand had stadium seats that you sat in. Not the most comfortable in the world but they were pretty cool at best. I can remember some nights when those stands were full from end to end. It was standing room only especially for the '70s championship races and the 80's/90's Lebanon Valley 100. The infield scoring and announcing tour sits in a pile of weeds along with the infield concession stand. Who can forget Warren Ruffner calling the races from the tower? To the left of the infield tower was spectator parking. To the right was the pits. The pits, indeed! I can't believe how run down the place is, but that will happen since it did close in 1996.
