03.18.12 | Rich Guy | I think this George Unfried's first bug. I know Frankie drove Danny Zanetti's VW at Pocono in 1976 at the big Mini-Stock race. |
03.18.12 | Greg Collins | This photo was taken at the Harmony Speedway on August 17, 1973. The American Mini-Stock Association (AMSA) presented a program consisting of qualifying heats and a 20-lap feature event. Heat winners were Joe Scheier and Frankie Schneider. The feature event was won by Frankie driving the George Unfried #1. He was followed across the finish line by Ernie Worth and Bob Trafford. |

03.19.12 | Greg Collins | Here's some additional info: On June 8, 1973, the
Harmony Speedway hosted a 10-lap exhibition race for the American Mini-Stock
Association mini-stock cars. Seven drivers participated in the
event: Frank Coman Sr., Jerry Coman, Doug Frank, Wayne Jacobus, Joe Scheier,
Frankie Schneider and Ron Weeds. The following month, on July 13, speedway management scheduled the AMSA group to present a program consisting of qualifying heat races and a 20-lap feature event. Qualifying heat winners were Joe Scheier and Frankie Schneider. The feature event was won by Schneider driving the George Unfried #1. Finishing second was Scheier, followed by Bob Trafford and Rich Brown. Limited sportsman drivers Larry Honey and Pepe Fernandez also competed in the AMSA races, with Honey finishing fifth in the feature event. The AMSA mini-stocks returned to Harmony on August 17 with a similar program. Qualifying heat winners once again were Frankie Schneider and Joe Scheier. The 20-lap feature event was won by Schneider. He was followed across the finish line by Ernie Worth and Bob Trafford. |
