Comments: Comment:  The picture is a little blurry, but it still catches the revolutionary shape of the "gun" that was brought to a knife fight.....  Most around the car just seem to be looking at the car as if to be saying... "Now what do we do...."

Definitely a cool photo. Interestingly, not many close-up shots of this iconic car have been posted, probably because it was constantly totally surrounded with throngs of people and not many photos could be taken. I wouldn't be surprised that the guy who took this shot was jostled in the process-hence the blurriness.....

I am on the immediate left of this picture wearing the multi-colored ski vest (which I still have in my coat closet). Looking at part 2 of the 1980 Super DIRT Week video (about 17 seconds in) I can see a guy in a beige coat with his camera around his neck at the back of the car (maybe Bob Pickell, Jr?).  I remember trying to get a look inside, around, and underneath this car all week long but with the crowds and the 112 crew around it I waited until Sunday to finally investigate.  I managed to get a "peek" at the "ground effects" and the "ram air" the car had and knew that there wasn't even going to be a question about who the winner would be that day.
