Comments: The rumors were plentiful during the off season, but with a presence at the January 2008 Motorsports show, most were optimistic that Wall would open once again come April as it had every year since 1950....

While drivers and crews prepared their cars, and the Wall Faithful prepared for another season at the Jersey Shore Speed Plant, the letter above was posted on the official website of Wall Speedway on Friday, March 14th, 2008.

01.20.09 3Wide Well, here it is less than a year after the terrible news above was released and through the help of Jim Morton and a group of volunteers, things have improved tremendously.

Jim was able to get the ok to run just one event in 2008, and what an event it turned out to be.  Perhaps the largest crowd in the 50+ year history turned out for Turkey Derby 2008.

Perhaps because of the success of that event, combined with the tireless efforts of Jim and his team, the official announcement was made that racing is returning to Wall Speedway in 2009!

While details will follow, information was provided on Jan 17th at the Motorsports Show that indicates that there will be at least one Saturday Night race each month during the racing season with there possibly being as many as 2 during the peak summer months of July and August, along with Turkey Derby 2009.

In addition, the very popular Sunday Series program is making a return featuring Karts, Bandoleros, Micros and Legends.

Thank you Jim Morton, Sue Simpson, Kevin Eyres, volunteers and owners of Wall Speedway for bringing racing back to Wall.
