| Comments: | Charlie tells us that he began attending the races with his wife at Flemington around 1956 and for the next 7 years he keep telling her that he would race there someday. Finally, after much coaxing, she agreed that he could race. Here is a picture taken by Ace Lane Sr. of Charlie (on the right) standing in the pits, preparing to do battle in the Novice Division at Flemington Speedway in 1963. |
