Comment from Hank: One week after Bob Pickell won his
last feature ever at Flemington. This photo was taken. Bobby went out
for warmups with his feature winning ride, the date..7-7-73, another car
forced Bobby into the wall for a rare warmup accident. Was Bobby pissed ? He
said and I quote, "all we had to do was wax the car, it was working that
well". Note: Sometimes you never know who you'll spot in the background of one of these images from 40 years ago... The 2 kids in the front row right in front of the #43 are Jeff and Kevin Kuhl. |
