02/25/06 Ed Hummel I was born in 59 so I didn't get to enjoy the track like others did. I lived on Koffel Road and as a kid I played there on bikes and fished in the pond and later drove my first car on the drag strip. Thanks, Ed civilwared1863@yahoo.com 10/03/06 Merit O'Neal The photo of Hatfield from the air was taken in 1954 after we completed the grandstands in the first turn. George Marshman had this picture taken. As you can see there are midgets in the second turn. This picture was taken later in the season and was on a Sunday. I lived in the house in the lower right corner of the picture and worked for George Marshman. We also built more stands in the fourth turn-not seen in this photo. My white oldsmobile is parked next to the office. Merit O'Neal
